Stuff I like
Music
This is such a fun album. I really enjoy sample-heavy albums, and this is one of my favorites. The samples of cheers and chants give the songs an amazing carefree feeling. I especially like the trumpet in "Junior Kickstart." "Rolling Blackouts," The Go! Team's third album, expands on the idea with even more brass. Songs like "T.O.R.N.A.D.O" and "Bust-Out Brigade" build up so much energy through their booming horns.
Daft Punk doesn't need introduction. Random Access Memories is, I think, the best album they made. The album has an amazing blend of electronic music with rock, funk, and orchestra. The orchestral elements give a natural sound to the album, contrasting the electronic synthesizers. "Giorgio by Moroder" and "Contact" both have incredible synths which, combined with the duo's first use of a full drum set, create a unique sound. Track 10, "Motherboard," is the best song they have ever made. The orchestral instruments mix with the synths beautifully, and the drums give the song an mysterious and uplifting atmosphere.
